The week 5 AP NCAA football poll is out. The NCAA top 25 football rankings award 25 points for a first place vote and 1 point for a twenty-fifth place vote.
The week 5 AP NCAA poll has two ACC teams, six Big 12 teams, two Big East teams, three Big Ten teams, two Pac-10 teams, six SEC teams, and four mid-major teams - BYU, Fresno State, Utah, and Boise State. The first six teams on the outside of the AP top 25 football rankings are Maryland, Michigan State, Kentucky, Ball State, and Tulsa tied with Northwestern. With USC, Georgia, and Florida all losing on Saturday and therefore moving down in the rankings, the number 1 votes were split by Oklahoma, Alabama, and Missouri with Oklahoma taking the majority and earning the number 1 overall spot in this week's AP NCAA top 25.
