The week 6 AP football poll has three ACC teams, six Big 12 teams, two Big East teams, three Big Ten teams, one Pac-10 team, six SEC teams, and four mid-major teams - BYU, Utah, Boise State, and Ball State. The first five teams on the outside of the Associated Press football poll are Wisconsin, Tulsa, Illinois, California, and Northwestern. For the second week in a row the number 1 votes were split by Oklahoma, Alabama, and Missouri with Oklahoma earning the majority and therefore keeping the overall number 1 spot in this week's AP poll top 25.
