The week 9 Associated Press top 25 football poll is out. Teams in the AP college football ratings are awarded with 25 points for a first place vote and 1 point for a twenty-fifth place vote.
The week 9 Associated Press football ratings have three ACC teams, five Big 12 teams, one Big East team, four Big Ten teams, two Pac-10 teams, four SEC teams, and six mid-major teams - BYU, Utah, Boise State, Ball State, TCU, and Tulsa. The first five teams on the outside of the AP top 25 football ratings are West Virginia, California, Kansas, Pittsburgh, and Connecticut. For the second week in a row Texas received all of the number 1 votes and so the Longhorns retain the overall number 1 position in the Associated Press top 25 ratings for the third straight week. Alabama remains number 2 with Penn State again at number 3.
