College Football Webmaster: Learn About the Site's Owner
Hello and welcome to College Football Rankings which is a part of the AnyGivenFan Network. My name is Jim Polak and I've been a huge college football fan for over 20 years. I've been entering weekly college football contests and bowl game contests since I was a kid. I find the Bowl Championship Series and the history of college bowls intriguing. I am a proponent of a D-1A college football playoff system and I will often make that known on this site. I believe the BCS is a poor method of determining who gets to play for the national championship. I believe there is no valid reason why football should remain the only D-1A sport that does not determine a national champion via a playoff system. I will offer offer my viewpoints, analysis, and ideas regarding BCS history, the current BCS rules, and a D-1A playoff system.
Besides my interest in college football I have 10 years of fantasy football experience that includes 4 league championships and 5
runner-up finishes. I also have 2 years of fantasy basketball experience that has resulted in 1 league championship and 1 runner-up finish. Fantasy golf is another area that I'm diving into and I've got 1 league championship to show for my efforts. I also have to mention college basketball which is actually my favorite sport just ahead of college football. Back in 1991 I won a March Madness contest that over 4000 people entered.
In 2004 I wrote and sold an e-book about fantasy football plus I ran a weekly fantasy football newsletter. I made the decision to focus on other business interests during 2005 and 2006. During the summer of 2007 I had a desire to get back to working on projects related to my interests and knowledge-base. That's where this site comes into play. The goal of College Football Rankings is to share my football knowledge and opinions with visitors to this site. As I mentioned earlier I will also go heavy on analyzing the BCS and the possibility of a D-1A college football playoff system.
I work from home. I like to consider myself an internet infopreneur. This site is one piece of a large internet project I'll be working on throughout the course of 2007-2008 and beyond. I've actually been working from home since June of 2004(following a 7 year engineering career in the automotive industry). I've dabbled in several different internet areas looking for a way to build a stable online income to support my family and to save for the future. I finally decided to go with what I know and what I'm good at. So I'm taking my interest in sports and building content-based websites around my knowledge and research. If you'd like to learn how I run my home based internet business check out a website I put together called Make-Money-Affiliate-Marketing.com. No prior marketing or web design experience is necessary to start your own online business.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you find worthwhile the information and viewpoints provided on this college football site.
