The USA Today football rankings are now available for week 1 of the NCAA football season. In the NCAA football top 25 rankings a first place vote gets a team twenty-five points while a twenty-fifth place vote gets a team one point.
The week 1 USA Today football top 25 poll has two ACC teams, five Big 12 teams, two Big East teams, four Big Ten teams, three Pac-10 teams, six SEC teams, and three mid-major teams - BYU, Fresno State, and Utah. The first five teams on the outside of the USA Today NCAA football rankings are UCLA, California, Tennessee, East Carolina, and Boston College. USC, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Florida, and LSU split the number 1 votes with USC taking the majority and therefore stealing the number 1 spot away from Georgia who slipped to number 2 from last week.
